During open hours customers can come to the Dutch door to pick up orders, ask about specific titles, select items such as puzzles and cards, or ask for bookseller advice. For larger orders, or if you are looking for more in-depth recommendations, please call, text, email, or check out our curated lists.

Payment at the door is simple with a credit card terminal that you can use without touching. Please remain distanced from any other customers while you are in line or at the door. Stay home if you are feeling unwell. And don't forget to wear your mask—city mandates do not allow us to serve you without one. Also, there are now several parking spots on our side of the block that are designated for curbside pickup. If you do want to proceed with ordering via this spiffy new website then you can search via the sidebar, peruse our staff picks and curated lists, or browse by subject. Add books to your cart or put them on a wishlist for later.

  1. As you shop please note each book's availability status:
    • In the Store Now – our staff will pull the book and send you a confirming email when it is ready for pickup.
    • Available to Order – we will special order the book for you, and our staff will email you timeframe details. Most books take 2-3 business days to arrive, but some are shipped from the east coast and can take 10-14 days.
    • Available for Pre-Order – The book has not yet been published.  We will put it in our system so that you will receive it when it is released.
    • Not Available from Us – This book is not available to us as it is temporarily out of stock with out distributors or out-of-print.. You might try sites such as powells.com, alibris.com, or bibliofinder.com for available used copies.
  2. As you go through the checkout process, please keep in mind:
    • You can pay with a credit card during checkout or specify payment during pickup at the store. As a matter of policy, we wait to charge your card until the book is at the store or has been shipped.
    • Use the comments field to ask the staff for information or request a service such as gift wrapping, local delivery, or a callback.
  3. Once checkout is complete, you’ll receive an automated email to let you know the checkout process was successful.
  4. You’ll receive a follow-up email from our staff within 24 hours to confirm details once the order has been reviewed.
